This year's race is the busiest we have seen for many years. The club Dinghy Park and the Club Car Park are being used for competing team dinghy parking and trailers. Car parking for everyone else must be on the designated public car park on Marine Drive. The only exception to these guidelines are those cars essential for the running of the race and those belonging to disabled club members. Those having the authority to park on the Club site will need to display a Club Car Park Pass
Important, please be aware that the Marine Drive Car Park is a public car park. Please therefore make sure you fully understand the parking regulations in force over the weekend.
Each car associated with the race must display a WLYC 24 Hr Race pass obtainable from Phil (the steward) or 24 Hour Race Information Centre. In addition, to validate each WLYC Car Park permit, it must be displayed with a £1.10 Public Car Park “Pay & Display” ticket, purchased from the parking meter.
The £1.10 “Pay & Display” ticket is valid from Friday 06:00 to Sunday 20:00.
We don’t want anyone to have their race spoilt by any misunderstanding in this respect.
Please ask if in doubt.
There is an option to pay by mobile phone via "Ring Go". Our advice is don't because if you pay by mobile:
If you do find a Parking Penalty Notice on your car and you have paid the £1.10 fee you need to take the complete envelope to the Race Information Centre. We will record your details and send the notice to Sefton Parking services to seek a cancellation of the fine.
