2019 Sefton Sports Award

Wednesday night was a very big night for West Lancashire Yacht Club.
Three of our Club members were nominated for Sefton Sports Awards, aimed to recognise outstanding achievement in amateur sport across the Borough of Sefton.
We attended the Awards Dinner at the Floral Hall and I am pleased to report that all three were successful in their respective categories, with two scooping major prizes.
The awards were:

• Tim Harper – Sefton Sports Personality of the Year
• Mike Dorr – Sefton Coach of the Year
• Rob Pickering – runner-up Sefton Volunteer of the Year

These awards are very prestigious within Sefton and represent three things for the Club.
Firstly, they recognise the outstanding achievements of the three individuals and we extend out congratulations to them all.
Secondly, they recognise the hard work and professionalism of all WLYC members in contributing to the success of these individuals.
Thirdly, the awards demonstrate the pre-eminence of WLYC within the Borough and the outstanding contribution that it makes to the sport of sailing in Sefton and beyond.

Everyone should feel proud of their fellow Club members, and of the Club.
