Welcome from the Commodore
West Lancashire Yacht Club is for all of the family. Whether you are an absolute beginner, just want to cruise or are an experienced racer, West Lancashire Yacht Club can meet your needs.
The club is a Volvo RYA champion club (the first in the North West) with excellent facilities, including sail training and an extensive racing programme on both tidal waters and the relatively safe waters of the Marine Lake at Southport.
The Club is one of the oldest clubs in the North West. There is a thriving Optimist section, with club boats available for those new to sailing and sailing development / coaching sessions for all ages seeking to improve their skills. We also have an active social scene.
New members are always welcome with those new to the club commenting on the friendly and approachable atmosphere.
Sailing is possible almost every day of the year. There is catering and a bar which are open every Sunday, plus Saturdays and Thursday evenings during the summer months.
You are also very welcome to visit the club and normally there is someone to show you around on Saturday afternoon and Sundays or Thursday evenings.
